Every year the committee members of OMSPA select a member to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for their longstanding commitment to the Ontario maple syrup industry. This year’s recipient, Robert Stapes, can trace his love of syrup back to his childhood and helping his father. A the age of 10, he convinced his father to let him tap the trees along the driveway and so his maple career began.
